FAQ
Can I use AquaFinesse in any pool or spa, old or new?
Yes. AquaFinesse works with any pool or spa, old or new, as long as it has an effective filtration system, removable/cleanable filters, and a means of circulating water through the filters for at least four hours a day.
Do I need any special equipment?
No. Just dissolve AquaFinesse Pool Tablet(s) in the skimmer, or pour AquaFinesse Hot Tub Solution right into the spa water.
How much AquaFinesse do I use weekly?
For pool weekly maintainance, use one tablet for every 20,000 gallons of pool water. For spa weekly maintenance, see dosage chart (roughly 7 oz. per 350 gallons of water).
Will AquaFinesse help with my scaling problem?
Yes, AquaFinesse will slowly remove all the built-up scaling from the surfaces and plumbing, and prevent it from building up again.
Will AquaFinesse get rid of the slimy feeling on my walls and surfaces?
Yes, slippery and slimy surfaces will disappear. AquaFinesse prevents the formation of grime and dirt so scrubbing with a brush or other equipment is no longer needed.
How often should I clean the filter in my pool or spa?
Clean your filter as needed based on the manufacturer’s recommendations. Initially, when first starting AquaFinesse on an existing pool or spa, you may have to clean your filter more often as AquaFinesse cleans out all the buildup in the pipes and plumbing.
Will I need a clarifier and a filter aid?
No, with AquaFinesse, you won’t need either product because AquaFinesse does it for you.
Do I still need a metal remover?
Only during the opening of the pool for the first time of the season.
How much chlorine do I use?
After switching to AquaFinesse, most owners see a significant reduction in the amount of chlorine they use to maintain 1.5 ppm.
How does it do that?
Simple. AquaFinesse reduces the contaminants and organic load, such as biofilm, which causes high chlorine demand. Therefore, less sanitizer is needed to maintain a residual ppm level.
What is biofilm?
Biofilm is a sticky, slimy substance on surfaces, pipes and equipment that protects bacteria within it. It is virtually impossible for traditional sanitizers such as chlorine or bromine to penetrate biofilm. AquaFinesse loosens the biofilm from surfaces so the bacteria lose their safe shelter, feeding and breeding ground. Without biofilm, bacteria becomes vulnerable for sanitizers to do their job.
I just started using AquaFinesse and my water turned cloudy. What am I doing wrong?
Nothing! This is a sign that AquaFinesse is working properly in cleaning out the scale and buildup hidden in your pipes and plumbing. During this reconditioning period, we recommend that you clean your filter(s) twice a week as the buildup gets released and filtered out.
Do I still need to balance my pool or spa?
Yes, the pool or spa must first be balanced. Then AquaFinesse will make it much easier to keep your water balanced, requiring fewer adjustments.
Can I use AquaFinesse with “alternative” sanitizers like salt? Ozone? UV? Biguanides?
Yes to ALL sanitizers. In fact, AquaFinesse allows these systems to work more efficiently and effectively, and helps with some of the common problems such as scaling and water mold. AquaFinesse keeps scale off salt generator cells, thus prolonging the life of the cell.
Is the active ingredient safe in AquaFinesse?
Yes. AquaFinesse is NSF 60 certified, which is safe for drinking water.
How do I use AquaFinesse?
It only takes one minute, one time per week to keep your pool or spa water clean and clear with AquaFinesse.
